Anti-Racism & Anti-Oppression Plan
Our mission is to strive for a safe and inclusive environment free of racism and oppression, where everyone can feel seen, respected, and valued. We are committed to actively recognizing and challenging racism, oppression, and discrimination in our work, relationships, and communities. We will work to identify, address, and change the systems, policies, and practices that perpetuate racism and oppression to create a more equitable and just society.
Establish a diversity committee of staff members, stakeholders, and community members, to create and oversee a plan to increase the diversity of Connected Family Services and promote anti-racism and anti-oppression.
Develop and implement a recruitment strategy to attract, hire, and retain a diverse range of employees.
Create and implement a training program focusing on cultural competency, anti-racism, anti-oppression and inclusivity.
Promote anti-racism and anti-oppression initiatives within the organization and the community.
Regularly review Connected Family Services’ policies and procedures to ensure they are not discriminatory or racist or oppressive.
Establish a zero-tolerance policy for racism or discrimination in the workplace.
Create a safe space for employees to voice concerns about racism, discrimination or oppression.
Establish partnerships with local organizations dedicated to promoting anti-racism and inclusivity.
Develop a plan to address any racism, oppression or discrimination within the organization.
Regularly assess the effectiveness of anti-racism and anti-oppressive initiatives and make changes as needed.
